Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Ever wondered about the importance of the perineum? It’s that crucial area between the anus and vulva that supports the bladder, uterus, and bowel and plays a key role in sexual health, aids in childbirth by stretching to allow the baby to pass, and is crucial for continence control.
In Europe, every woman, regardless of her delivery (C-section, Vaginal Birth…), receives pelvic floor rehab to strengthen these muscles, a practice often overlooked in the U.S. Here, I take a proactive approach, integrating daily care routines that go beyond basic kegel exercises to improve and maintain your pelvic health for the loooong term.
My Rehabilitation program is based on “Eutonie” Principles which is this fantastic body awareness method developed in Europe back in the mid-20th century. It focuses on prevention, rehabilitation, and personal development.
Here is what I cover in this plan:
- Auto assessment of your perineum: strength and elasticity
- postural exercises
- Stretching exercises
- breathing techniques
- massages
- closing of the Pelvic bones
Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation includes:
5 sessions of 1 hour each
One to 2 sessions every week at my office
You can start as soon as you feel ready during the postpartum. We usually start after 6 weeks of Postpartum
Functional Pelvic Floor: Techniques to handle everyday actions like sneezing, laughing, and sports.
Holistic Body Awareness: Increase awareness of your body's posture to improve natural reflexes and reduce pelvic pressure.
Journey of Sensation: Discover how your pelvic floor connects with your body's structure and emotional state.
